Guggenheim Art Museum, Helsinki

Two emerging ellipsoids rise from the harbor — merging into a single, homogeneous architecture that respects Helsinki’s historic skyline.

The form floats between land and sea, weaving art, light, and color into one living structure. Inspired by local craftsmanship, the façade is composed of interlaced wooden rods, recalling the tactile memory of Finnish weavers.

With every shift of the northern light, the museum transforms — reflecting the city, the water, and the ever-changing hues of the sky.

A new Guggenheim envisioned as a dialogue between history and modernity, nature and culture, structure and spectrum.
